Title: 5/10/2008 - 5/12/2008 Mail Problem on www8.cruzio.com
The mail subsystem on our www8 domain server stopped delivering messages late Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, a monitoring script we use to keep an eye on the mail server also failed. As a result, messages sent to that server until Monday morning at 9 am were rejected with a 'temporary failure' error.
<p>
When this type of error occurs, the sending mail server should queue the message and try sending it again, for some number of days.
<p>
Cruzio engineering has put another layer of monitoring in place, as of this morning, to attempt to prevent this from ever happening again.
