We've got a great
group of classes and events scheduled for the
month of December. The most exciting of them
all, in my opinion, is "The Great Domain Name
Giveaway." Any Cruzio member that stops
into our downtown Store on Saturday,
December 15th anytime from 9am-4pm is entitled to
a free one-year domain name registration.

If you're not sure what a domain name is,
it's basically reserving a customized address
for you on the Internet. For example, you
could register a name for your family,
like familycruz.com, or get your business
name reserved. Once you've got your name,
it's easy to start getting email
to this address, like mom at familycruz.com, or
build a Web site at www.familycruz.com

If your business isn't on the Internet yet,
take this opportunity to launch your
Web presence!

Also, if you bring in at least three cans
of food as a donation to the Second Harvest
Food Bank, we'll give you a second one-year
domain name registration for free! Give it

Brown Bag Workshop
"Planning Your Web Presence"

Speaking of launching your Web presence,
we have a Brown Bag workshop aimed at
any business owner who either needs to
launch or relaunch their site or needs some tips
on making their site successful. It's called
"Planning Your Web Presence," and we'll go over
the whole process of getting your domain
registered (which you'll get for free at The
Giveaway). In addition, we'll be
giving you tips on design, search engine
optimization, ecommerce, and marketing
your presence. Plus of course we'll be
happy to answer your questions.

"One Night Web Site"
"One Day Web Site"
December 11 5-8pm
December 13 9-12 noon

Once you've made a plan for your
Web presence, it's time to apply it to the
creation of your site.  Cruzio
can help. We're offering two classes, "One Night
Web Site" and "One Day Web Site" (same
class, it's just held at different times). We'll show
you how to use the amazing open source content
management system Joomla to power your site
and allow you to make changes without needing
to know HTML.

It's pretty hard to promise a completed Web
site by the end of the class (is a site ever really
completed?), so what we'll do is give you the
foundation and the skills necessary to build your
site the way you want it to look and function.
By the end of the class, you'll be well on your
way to becoming your own Web master!

We're offering one in the morning and one at night,
as we know that people have different schedules,
especially around the holidays.
